The Therapy rationale

Presnting a rationale for how and why therapy works is a fundamental component in the therapy process. Understanding how therapy works drives client motivation, and in later stages supports client independce in the therapy process and beyond. Your version of how therapy works doesn’t (and shouldn’t) be a full explanation of all the science. Start with a ‘believable myth’ - what does your client need to know to start work with motivation and clarity. keep it clear, in line with common sense or basic logic, and as persuasive and personally tailored as possible. Use the trainer below to practice and refine.

Good luck!
